Description
Wrigleys Gum Vending Machine
This is a vintage collector’s item made by Kayem Products Company. It is a heavy-duty metal wall-mounting 5¢ coin-operated vending machine used to dispense Wrigley’s spearmint chewing gum.
This item shows some wear. In particular, the lock is missing, the two dispensing trays at the bottom are slightly bent and have some rust spots, and there is some chipped paint on the sides and front.
Otherwise, the actual machine is in good working condition. The Wrigleys Gum Vending Machine is the perfect gift for collectors.
During the 1940s and ’50s, these machines were located at the platforms of the New York City elevated railway. In addition, they were also placed in factories and plants to provide workers with a refreshment break.
