Topo Gigio Coin Bank

This collectible item is a Huron Products Co. thick soft-plastic vintage coin savings bank based on the beloved Italian TV character, Topo Gigio.

The coin deposit slot is located in the back under the shirt (also fits paper money). In addition, the head lifts completely off for easy access to the cash.

Topo’s shirt is a little worn but his denim pants are in excellent condition and the figure itself is in near-mint condition.

The Topo Gigio character was a soft foam mouse puppet with dreamy eyes and a friendly, childish personality that made his debut in 1959 on a children’s Italian television puppet show.

He was so well-received that shortly thereafter, he also appeared in magazines and on merchandising. He was even a recurring guest on the Ed Sullivan Show and in 1965 he starred in his own international film, “The Magic World of Topo Gigio”.

To this day, Topo Gigio is considered an Italian pop culture icon. The Topo Gigio Coin Bank makes a terrific gift that is bound to put a smile on anyone’s face.
