Streisand Gold Record Award
This Entertainment Collectible is an RIAA award for Barbra Streisand's first holiday Christmas album released in October of 1967 titled "A Christmas Album".
The Streisand Gold Record Award consists of the following three items that are mounted on a backing contained within a gold frame (17" W x 21" H) and a glass cover:
- Laser-cut gold plated vinyl record of the 12″ 33 1⁄3 RPM microgroove long-playing album
- Small album cover image (taken during rehearsal for her concert "A Happening in Central Park")
- RIAA Certified Sales Award plaque presented to Jack Gold who was an A&R executive and producer at Columbia Records. It says:
"Presented to Jack Gold to commemorate the sale of more than 500,000 copies of the Columbia Records Long Playing Record Album 'Barbra Streisand Christmas Album'"
Although the backing and small album cover image are faded and the gold frame is slightly worn (easily replaceable), the actual gold record and RIAA plaque are in perfect condition.
Please note that in the pictures, the gold record might look warped (because of the reflections) but it's NOT WARPED, it's in PERFECT CONDITION.
This Christmas album placed #1 on the Billboard charts 5 weeks in a row and is ranked as one of the best-selling Christmas albums of all time.
