Marvel Blade Figurine
This collectible is based on the fictional comic book character, Blade. He is ready to hunt vampires wearing his usual leather outfit and equipped with silver bullets, double-edged sword, and teakwood dagger. Knives made of teak are his favorite weapons (hence the name “Blade”).
The figurine is cast in metallic resin, hand-painted, and mounted on a base. It measures 3.5″ tall and weighs about 7 ounces. It was released by Eaglemoss Publications in January 2005 with issue #6 of the Marvel Classic Figurine Collection magazine. This collectible Eaglemoss Marvel Blade Figurine is in excellent condition.
During the 1970s, The Tomb of Dracula was one of the most popular comic books in circulation. In the comics, Blade hunted vampires because one killed his mother. Before she died, however, a vampire bit her while she was giving birth to Blade.
Consequently, he was born a cross-breed. By being half human and half vampire, he is immune to vampire bites and he ages slower. In 1998 Marvel released a motion picture featuring Blade played by Wesley Snipes.
It was the first theatrical film to portray an African-American Superpower and Marvel’s first big success in theaters. It was such a huge hit, in fact, it turned into a trilogy. And even though Blade has been absent from theaters since the early 2000s, he continues to be one of Marvel’s most popular titles.
So it’s not surprising to hear recently that Marvel is currently preparing for a Blade revival film. The Marvel Blade Figurine makes a perfect gift for both young and adult Blade fans.
