Harley Quinn Figurine 1561
This collectible item is a 5″ metal figurine based on the DC comic book character, Harley Quinn (also known as Dr. Harleen Quinzel). She is wearing a black and red jumpsuit with a matching jester hat and a black domino mask.
The Harley Quinn Figurine 1561 was released in 1999 by the Warner Bros Studio Stores. It is a limited-edition sculpted, hand-painted, dipped in 24k gold plate, and mounted on an onyx base by the famous artist Ron Lee (1947-2017).
In addition, written on the base are the edition number (1561 out of 2500) and Lee’s autograph. Furthermore, this item has never been displayed. Therefore, it is in mint condition.
Dr. Harleen Quinzel is a psychiatrist intern at Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum mental hospital, However, due to her histrionic personality disorder which makes her needy, she falls in love with her patient, The Joker.
Consequently, she helps The Joker escape the asylum. To prove her “toxic” devotion to him, she willingly falls into a vat of acid. At that point, she becomes Harley Quinn, The Joker’s lover, and evil accomplice.
Harley made her debut in 1992 on the Batman animated television series. She was so well-received that she re-appeared in issue #12 of The Batman Adventures comic book and several subsequent issues.
Then from 2001 to 2003, Harley had her own comic book series (38 issues) and from 2010 to 2015 she paired up with Catwoman and Poison Ivy in the Gotham City Sirens series (26 issues).
Additionally, she has been in a novel and several video games, as well as starred in a 2016 movie “Suicide Squad”, a 2019 Harley Quinn animated TV series, and a 2020 movie “Birds of Prey”.
Because Harley is one of DC’s most popular villains, the Harley Quinn Figurine 1561 proves to be the perfect gift for collectors and comic book enthusiasts.
