Batgirl is a fictional DC comic book character who lives in Gotham City. Originally in 1961, she was known as Bat-Girl who was portrayed as Batwoman’s niece and sidekick. Later in 1967 the name was changed to Batgirl and was depicted as the daughter of Gotham’s Police Commissioner. This revamped superheroine is not portrayed as a side-kick or love interest. Rather she is looked upon other supporting characters as a peer. Her equality, as well as her strong desire to fight crime, caught the attention of a female audience. In fact, Batgirl has become so popular that she is now regarded as a cultural icon. Therefore, the Batgirl Figurine is not only a great gift for DC Comics fans, but it is also a symbol of female empowerment.
