Immerse Yourself in Star Trek

Star Trek is a science fiction media franchise that made its debut in 1966 as a television series written by Gene Roddenberry.

It took place in the 23rd Century centered around the crew of a Federation starship, the "USS Enterprise".

Their mission was to "explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no man had gone before".

Despite Star Trek's popularity in the first season, its ratings declined during season two and it was canceled after season three.

However, after Paramount leased reruns of Star Trek to 150 domestic and 60 international broadcast TV stations, its fan base dramatically increased.

As Star Trek gained millions of followers, various spin-offs were produced including an animated series, TV shows, motions pictures, and video games.

The technology on Star Trek was ahead of its time and it addressed present-day issues such as diversity, war, and peace.

To celebrate its impact on culture, art, and technology. you can Immerse Yourself in Star Trek at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

From October 2021 thru February 2022, Skirball will showcase more than 100 rare artifacts, set pieces, props, photos, and video interactives.
